UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is organising a trade mission for UK companies that wish to explore and access business opportunities for the Tokyo Olympic & Paralympic Games in 2020 and the Rugby World Cup being hosted in Japan in 2019. Five years out from the events, this mission will focus on transport planning, sports advisory services and design, but interested companies beyond these sectors are also welcome to apply.
When Prime Minister Abe visited London in May, the UK and Japan signed a ‘Host2Host’ agreement to share our experiences of planning and delivering international sports events, as well as promoting business between our companies.
Since then, those involved in the organisation of Tokyo 2020, including the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympics and Paralympic Games (TOCOG) and Tokyo Metropolitan Government, have sent delegations to London, demonstrating the strength of interest in London 2012.
Date: 24-26 November 2014
